Bobby grew up in western Maine surrounded by music. Family gatherings would always end with his relatives passing a guitar around, singing the songs of Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, John Prine, and other folk music legends. Even so, Bobby balked at any music involvement until his freshman year of high school when he signed up for a guitar class. It started as an obsession with learning Beatles songs and quickly evolved into a love for writing his own music. In 2012, Bobby founded his first band, Junco to create an outlet for his original music. The band went on to perform all over New England and released two LPs (The Night the Lake Stood Still - 2017 and Red Run Wild - 2020), and one EP (Waking the Sleeping Giant - 2015). Now based in the Upper Valley, Bobby continues to be an active songwriter and performs regularly in Vermont and New Hampshire. Career highlights include multiple performances at the acclaimed Stone Mountain Arts Center in Brownfield, Maine, winning 93.5 WMWV's "Local Song of the Year" contest in 2012, being a repeat musical guest on the award-winning Cold River Radio Show, and opening for national touring artists including Carbon Leaf, Jonathan Edwards, and Ryan Montbleau. |
